Are these companies really going to the moon?

Sorry I don't have much time to go into any of this at the moment. We'll definitely have a discussion later on (in another report here, or maybe even at forum.bitcoin.com because sending Bitcoin Cash (BCH) from the moon would be remarkably cool.. If going to the moon is really and truly possible..).

For the time being links and excerpts are provided below for related and relevant information at each company's site (all links also saved in the WayBack Machine):

Vodafone - Vodafone and Nokia to Create First 4G Network on Moon

Excerpt: "The Moon will get 4G coverage next year, 50 years after the first NASA astronauts walked on its surface. Vodafone plans to create the first 4G network on the Moon to support a mission by PTScientists in 2019 and has today appointed Nokia as its technology partner."

"Berlin-based company, PTScientists is working with Vodafone Germany and Audi to achieve the first privately-funded Moon landing. Mission to the Moon is due to launch in 2019 from Cape Canaveral on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket."

Nokia - Nokia is selected by Vodafone to be its technology partner for Mission to the Moon project

Excerpt: "Nokia Chief Technology Officer and Bell Labs President, Marcus Weldon, said: 'We are very pleased to have been selected by Vodafone to be their technology partner. This important mission is supporting, among other things, the development of new space-grade technologies for future data networking, processing and storage, and will help advance the communications infrastructure required for academics, industry and educational institutions in conducting lunar research. These aims have potentially wide-ranging implications for many stakeholders and humanity as a whole, and we look forward to working closely with Vodafone and the other partners in the coming months, prior to the launch in 2019.'"

Audi - 45 years after the last step on the moon, we are ready to take the next one.

Excerpt: "Audi is now heading towards the next stage in humanity's greatest adventure in collaboration with Berlin-based start-up PTScientists. They are following in the wake of Apollo 17 by launching the first ever private moon mission. Touchdown is scheduled for 2019 — at the very same place that Cernan and his team landed 45 years ago. The mission objective: explore the moon as a potential future human habitat and find out more about the Earth's satellite. The Audi lunar quattro vehicles will be playing a key role in this spectacular mission — driven by the legendary quattro drive. They have been perfected in every respect for exploring the 'eighth continent': built using lightweight construction and equipped with quattro technology, driven by a powerful, solar-supplied e-tron engine, they will move sure-footedly and defy the extreme conditions of their environment, following in Cernan's footsteps 384,400 km away from their home planet. Leaving their tracks in the moondust. And writing the next chapter in the history of the moon."

PTScientists (Part Time Scientists) - Moon Rover Meet the Audi lunar quattro

Excerpt: "We will use our first mission, Mission to the Moon, as a technology demonstration mission to explore new ways to bring down the costs of space exploration."

"The Audi Lunar quattro is a cutting-edge lunar rover designed by PTScientists in conjunction with our technical partner Audi."
